Ana Martins, presenter with Portugal’s most-loved radio station, Rádio Comercial, and Cláudia Monteiro, former Edinburgh Festival bod, got together to bring Silent Adventures to Portugal. Silent Adventures opened in October 2019 and currently runs every Saturday in Lisbon, with plans to get the whole country dancing pretty soon.
‘Joy is so contagious. Imagine being part of a group of people laughing their way through town – you almost forget you’re dancing! As soon as you get those headphones on, you’re transported to a place where every step comes with its own soundtrack – and that’s absolutely magic’, said Ana Martins.
‘I fell in love with Silent Adventures at first sight. Spotting a group of adults playing and dancing through the streets without inhibitions is great for morale and so healthy! There are few occasions nowadays when adults can play like they used to when they were kids… Silent Adventures let’s you do just that come rain or shine!’, said Cláudia Monteiro.
The experience takes about an hour. Participants are guided by the humour and playlist of Silent Adventures DJs and hosts. They’ll show you your moves are incredible… you just don’t know it yet. The Silent Adventures team also works with private parties, birthdays, hen and stag do’s and corporate events. And for the person who has it all… Silent Adventures has gift vouchers too, and promises to get everyone dancing — even the shy ones!’
